Bothwell Landscape Studio is a landscape architecture firm located in Portland, Oregon. Our team brings a typologically and geographically diverse slate of experience to our work, from single- and multi-family housing to parks, schools, botanical gardens, wineries, restoration and stormwater management. We’ve worked in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and Boston, for renowned private firms, parks departments, and nonprofits.

Landscapes influence how we feel and remind us of our connection to nature. It is our passion to create poetic, transformative spaces that move people.

Our designs often start with a narrative from which we draw inspiration.  We approach projects with a critical yet open mind, taking our cues from the site as well as serendipitous elements that clients and projects bring to us.  Our work is contemporary, but we respond to the layers of cultural and natural history in the architecture and land.

Inspired by the Pacific Northwest, our studio focuses on beautifully crafted details and quality, durable materials, complemented by an expressive, carefully calibrated plant palette.  We take pride in collaborating with architects, builders, and clients, creating a custom vision, approach and details for each project that expresses the design idea at every scale.
